Simon Millichap holds a Master’s Degree in Fire Investigation from The University of Central Lancashire and a Batchelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from The University of Edinburgh.
Formerly Simon worked for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service which he joined in 1999 as a firefighter. As a crew manager Simon spent over six years in the safe management of fire and rescue incidents, the implementation of community fire safety policy and the training, development and assessment of firefighter competency.
After graduating with a Full time Master’s degree in Fire Investigation in 2012 Simon joined MTD the same year. Simon has been involved in the investigation of Vessel/cargo and land based fire and explosion incidents and bulk cargo quality issues. This work has involved extensive travel with cases involving the shipment of diverse products such as coal, charcoal, vehicles and machinery, foodstuffs, mineral ores, pharmaceuticals, animal feed, aluminium, wood, rapeseed and hazardous chemicals.
Simon is a member of the Institute of Fire Engineers, the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences and the International Association of Arson Investigators. Simon is a member of and the Regional representative for the UK Association of Fire Investigators.
