We have an expert team of food scientists, chemists, microbiologists, biotechnologists and scientists with experience of investigating quality issues with both bulk agricultural and finished foodstuffs that arise during production or during road, rail, air or sea transportation and warehouse storage.
We have undertaken detailed investigations into quality issues that have arisen either during the manufacture of finished foodstuffs or during their shipment by road, rail, air or sea.
In addition, MTD has extensive experience of undertaking investigations into quality issues that arise during the marine shipment of bulk agricultural commodities and have investigated quality issues arising from incidents that have occurred all over the world.
We have attended, investigated and reported on process and production failures during foodstuff manufacture that have potentially compromised the quality of the final product and resulted in scrapping of production lots at considerable cost. By way of example (but not limited to) we have examined quality claims following the manufacture of:
- Individually quick frozen vegetables
- Packaged fresh fruits
- Low calorie fruit flavoured drinks
- Packaged cheeses
- Frozen mussels
