Leo graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Delft University in the Netherlands. Prior to joining MTD, Leo gained 30 Years experience in the oil and gas industry while running laboratories for a major International Oil company in several different countries. Disciplines covered include Refinery operations, Petrochemicals, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Methane conversion to Sulphur free Fuels (GTL or Gas To Liquid) and Crude Oil Fields. Leo also gained wide experience in sampling and plant startup’s, implementing ISO17025 and auditing laboratories worldwide.
Since joining MTD in 2017, Leo has been involved in claims investigation and loss control for bulk liquid cargoes, with particular focus on sampling and testing issues and mitigation strategies. This has been undertaken on behalf of a wide range of clients and has involved attending around the world on vessels, in storage terminals and refineries, production plants and testing laboratories. Cargoes investigated have included: petroleum and petrochemical products, biofuels and specialty petrochemicals.
